Juventus will do ‘whatever it takes’ to sell Aaron Ramsey this summer with Tottenham interested

Juventus will do ‘whatever it takes’ to sell Aaron Ramsey this summer after becoming frustrated with his injury problems and £400,000-a-week wages… and Fabio Paratici is keen to sign him once again and bring ex-Arsenal star to Tottenham

  • Juventus are looking to ease their financial situation and sell Aaron Ramsey
  • The Welshman has struggled since his move from Arsenal two years ago
  • Tottenham are among the clubs interested in signing the 30-year-old midfielder
  • Spurs’ new sporting director Fabio Paratici helped bring Ramsey to Juventus

Juventus are keen to sell Aaron Ramsey this summer and will everything they can to move on the midfielder, who is seen as a financial burden by the club.

Reports in Italy suggest that after two years in Turin, he is still unable to communicate in Italian with his teammates or the media and that has had a negative impact on his ability to settle in the country.

Ramsey underwent medical checks on Monday at the start of the new season under Max Allegri, and he is awaiting news on his future. That could come from London, and from the big rivals of his former club Arsenal.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the midfielder born is being lined up by Fabio Paratici, who is looking to bolster Tottenham’s midfield ranks and the options available to new manager Nuno Espirito Santo.

Spurs’ sporting director Paratici was the architect of the Welsh midfielder’s free signing to Juventus two years ago and now wants to bring him back to the Premier League in what would be an extremely controversial move amongst Arsenal fans.

Under Allegri, Ramsey may not be in favour and a move out of Italy seems likely – he will have plenty of Premier League suitors should he choose to return to England.

Paratici has never lost his admiration of the Welsh midfielder, who in the last two years has missed 25 games due to various injury problems.

His annual salary is around seven million euros and Juventus would like to get rid of this to help improve the club’s financial situation.

It’s accepted at the club that the move for Ramsey has not worked, and Juventus risk having to continue paying the financial consequences for another two years if an exit is not agreed.

Ramsey would not be the first Welsh star to struggle to make an impact in Turin. Ian Rush, the former Liverpool forward, only spent a year at Juventus and scored just seven goals in 29 games.

Rush has spoken about the difficulties facing Ramsey, and how important a player being comfortable off the pitch is to their performances on it.

‘Ramsey looks like another player when he’s on the pitch with Wales,’ Rush said.

‘I smile when I think about it, because it is a somewhat similar situation to the one I experienced in Italy at Juventus, when you are happy to play and feel the confidence, everything comes easy.’
