Kate Langbroek is mocked for making an embarrassing emoji blunder

Not you too! Kate Langbroek is mocked for making an embarrassing emoji blunder in sponsored Instagram post

Kate Langbroek is the latest Australian celebrity to fall prey to Melbourne-based ‘snark’ account Celeb Spellcheck.

The radio personality, 55, uploaded a sponsored post to Instagram promoting Melbourne‘s Chapel St shopping precinct on Wednesday, but things went awry when fans noticed she’d made an embarrassing error.

Eagle-eyed followers noticed that Kate had written the phrase ‘(paw emoji)’ in her caption, rather than using the emoji itself.

The error suggests that Kate, like many Instagram influencers, may not have bothered to write the caption itself.

Instead, the comedian likely copied-and-pasted instructions from a PR company’s email, without realising the words in brackets weren’t meant to be re-posted verbatim.

After noticing the gaffe, Instagram account Celeb Spellcheck reposted Kate’s mistake, along a sassy caption that read: ‘That’s a paw effort @Katelangbroek’.

Kate has since amended her original caption by adding in a paw emoji.

Celeb Spellcheck has attracted criticism in recent months, with the likes of Skye Wheatley and Tayla Damir accusing the page of ‘bullying’ them by correcting their spelling.

The admin has denied bullying the influencers she features on the account, saying: ‘This page is meant to be lighthearted and fun.’

‘I have definitely posted things in the past that I’m not proud of, but I do try to never cross the line.’

The account previously made headlines when it shared a screenshot of model Elyse Knowles misspelling ‘voilà’ as ‘wallah’.

The gaffe went viral in December when it was picked up by U.S. social media sensation Joshua Ostrovsky, a.k.a. The Fat Jewish.
