- Katrina Gorry has bid farewell to Vittsjo
- She spent two years at the Swedish club
- Beginning new chapter with her fiance and daughter
Matildas star Katrina Gorry has said farewell to her domestic club Vittsjo GIK following the conclusion of the Swedish football season.
Vitsjo finished fifth in the Damallsvensakan after wrapping up a 2-0 win over KIF Orebro DFF last weekend, with Gorry scoring from the penalty spot.
The dynamic midfielder has been at the club for two years alongside fiance and teammate Clara Markstedt.
However, Markstedt announced her retirement recently and the conclusion of the season has opened the door for the pair and their daughter Harper to start a new chapter.
Gorry took to Instagram to thank the club after a wonderful two-year spell.

Gorry spent two years with the Swedish club but is seeking pastures new
‘To my @vittsjogikofcl family, THANK YOU ❤️,’ she wrote on Instagram.
‘Thank you for giving me this opportunity, for welcoming us with open arms and for taking care of our little girl.
‘Thank you to our incredible supporters, to my team, to our coaching staff and most of all our incredible Nannies.
‘This has become our home for the last 2 years but it’s time to say goodbye and set off on a new adventure. I came here with a 6-month-old and I’m leaving with a bilingual 2-year-old, a beautiful fiancé and people that will hold a place in our hearts forever.’
It is unclear as to where Gorry will go next, although she has been linked with top clubs in Europe and the United States after her incredible performances at the Women’s World Cup this year.
The international transfer window is closed until early 2024, so Gorry could return to Australia and play in the A-League.
Gorry plans to marry Markstedt in 2025 on Hamilton Island in the Whitsundays.
‘We’re going to try to keep it as traditional and beautiful as we can,’ Gorry told Women’s Day earlier this year.
‘A lot of the Matildas have been my family for a long time so they were so excited for me.
The dynamic midfield dazzled at the Women’s World Cup and will have plenty of suitors
‘I’d love to have them there.’
Gorry gave birth to Harper in 2021 through IVF solo and met Markstedt when she moved to Sweden shortly after.
‘Having Clara has changed everything for Harper and I,’ she said.
‘She’s amazing with her, and Harper loves her more than anything.’
