Katy Perry transforms into an ‘I Voted’ sticker and waves at passing cars on a street corner

Katy Perry proudly turned in her ballot in one of the many designated drop-boxes in Los Angeles last week.

And the 36-year-old pop star attempted to encourage voter turn out by transforming herself into a giant ‘I Voted’ sticker in an Instagram video uploaded on Monday.

Donning the hilarious get-up, Perry stood on the sidewalk and gestured at passing cars to honk their horns if they already voted.

In order to adhere to California’s strict mask mandate, the Teenage Dream singer made sure to don a face mask, while performing her politically-charged stunt.

Katy got plenty of responses from passing drivers, with one of them rolling down their window and saying: ‘That’s hysterical.’

As the honks flooded in, Perry made sure to look back at her cameraman and let out a triumphant yell.

To close out the clip, the 13-time Grammy nominee crossed the street and made her way into a liquor store.

But due to the width of her costume, she was forced to enter through the store’s doors sideways.

In her post’s caption, Katy quoted the chorus from her recently released song Not The End Of The World and reminded her 107million followers that ‘TOMORROW IS ELECTION DAY!’

‘Tell your mom, tell your dad, tell complete strangers on the street to #VOTENOW #BRINGAFRIEND #BRINGASNACK #TAKEYOURBIKE #buthonkifyoualreadyvoted,’ she concluded.

The footage Katy uploaded to Instagram on Monday was taken last Tuesday after dropping off her own ballot.

Besides her ‘I Voted’ headgear, Perry kept cozy in a cable knit sweater dress and a pair of Birkenstock sandals.

Her blonde hair was tied back into a ponytail and she kept any unruly strands out of her face with a headband.

Before dropping it into the box, Katy showed off her completed ballot to the camera.

Once it slipped through the drop-box’s slot, Perry turned into an oversized ‘I Voted’ sticker.

In a post shared with her following on October 21, Perry got all dolled up to discuss the importance of voting early and provided her fans with the resources needed to do so.

In her tireless quest to get people to head to the polls, Katy recently enlisted the help of her soon-to-be husband Orlando Bloom, 43.

The engaged pair concocted a clever pro-voting message to the tune of the children’s song Rise and Shine in a video shared to Instagram last Wednesday.

Bloom sang, ‘Vote in person, not with the mail-in ballot,’ to which Perry sang, ‘Now’s the time to vote in person, person, people of the United States.’

In the cute clip, Katy sported a necklace that featured their newborn daughter’s name, Daisy Dove.

Orlando and Katy welcomed their first child together in late August and announced Daisy’s arrival via a statement to UNICEF.

‘We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter,’ read the statement’s opening line.

Included with their joyous birth announcement was a black-and-white photo of Katy and Orlando holding onto their baby girl’s tiny hand.

The couple, who were first seen getting cozy with one another at a Golden Globes after party in 2016, got engaged on Valentine’s Day in 2019.
