Former child star Keke Palmer shared a vintage clip from her failed 2005 Disney Channel pilot Keke & Jamal featuring Vanessa Hudgens.

‘It was loosely based on my life. A little girl named Keke with big dreams of being an entertainer and her tight [knit] family,’ the Illinois-born 26-year-old – who boasts 24.5M social media followers – recalled on Monday.

‘I was ten years old and I can remember it like it was yesterday. We filmed this on the old That’s So Raven set and that was when I first met Raven Symone. True dream come true for me and like a fairytale. I hope it makes you laugh like it has mad me hahaha whew!’ 

In the clip, Keke (born Lauren) excitedly auditioned for her Los Angeles elementary school musical.

As Palmer sang her heart out, her mean girl rival Vanessa yawned and pretended to be bored.

The Hustlers actress and the 31-year-old High School Musical alum eventually reunited in 2016 to play Pink Ladies Betty Rizzo and Marty Maraschino in Fox’s Grease: Live.

Keke & Jamal – co-starring Earl Billings and Andre Jamal Kinney – did not get picked up by the Mouse house.   

Palmer went on to earn $20K/per episode to headline her very own Nickelodeon sitcom True Jackson, VP – which aired for three seasons spanning 2008-2011.

In it, the Daytime Emmy Award-nominated presenter portrayed a Manhattan 15-year-old who becomes the vice president of the youth fashion department for fictional label, Mad Style.

Keke recently reprised her styling expert character True Jackson for a promo as host of the 37th Annual MTV Video Music Awards, which air August 30 from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.     

However due to the COVID-19 crisis, there will be little to no audience sitting in the 19K-seat stadium.

Live performers include K-Pop sensations BTS, problematic pop star Doja Cat, and Colombian reggaeton singer J Balvin.
