‘It’s a challenge’: Khloe Kardashian says co-parenting daughter True with Tristan Thompson is ‘one of the hardest things’ she’s ever done

Khloe Kardashian is opening up about the struggles of co-parenting her daughter True with her on-off boyfriend Tristan Thompson.

“It’s one of the hardest things I’ve ever done,” Khloe, 36, said during an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show earlier this week.

“Because you have your own personal feelings, but when you can put those aside and you just put your child first – it sounds great when you’re all in love and everything, [but] when you go through something, it’s such a challenge.”

Khloe and NBA player Tristan, 29, are rumored to be back together after spending most of their time with one another during quarantine.

She added on the show: “But to do it, I know how good I feel about myself. You put your kids first. It’s hard sometimes, but it pays off.”

Khloe also said she’s looked to her parents as an example on how to handle the situation. “You put your kids first and it’s hard sometimes, but it pays off. They’re happy, beautiful children.”

The pair have had an extremely rocky relationship, with the sportsman allegedly cheating on Khloe on more than one occasion, and one accusation was revealed just as she was just giving birth to their daughter True.

Elsewhere in the interview with Ellen, Khloe came to the defense of her older sister Kim Kardashian, amid waves of criticism following tone deaf posts and images from her over the top 40th birthday beach getaway that took place at Marlon Brando’s The Brando Resort in Tahiti.

She tried to explain that the birthday trip was a ‘beautiful experience’ and she doesn’t want Kim to focus on anything but that: ‘I don’t want that to overshadow all the greatness that happened,’ the mother of True said.

The reported $1 million luxurious vacation comes amid the global COVID-19 and strict lockdowns to slow the spread of the virus – with her home state of California under a non-essential travel ban – a guideline which Kim and her family ignored as they jetted to Tahiti via a private jet.

During the in person appearance on the Ellen Show, the host asked Khloe about Kim and the controversy surrounding her.

‘I haven’t heard a lot about it, but I did hear that people were upset that we all went out town [but] I don’t really know the extent of it, but this year is a frustrating year. I get it,’ Khloe said in an attempt to sidestep the controversy.

Adding: ‘I think there’s so many frustrations going on for everybody, but also, it’s her 40th. This is something she really wanted to do for us… it was such a nice thing.’

Khloe continued, noting that: ‘All of the precautions and everything that we took and being there and how grateful everyone was for the tourist aspect of it – so many people said that we were their first party or guests that they’ve had in months and what it’s done for them to be able to pay their bills or do stuff for their family.’
