Kimberley Walsh and Nadine Coyle have ended 7-year feud

Kimberley Walsh has revealed that she has finally ended her seven-year feud with former Girls Aloud bandmate Nadine Coyle.

Bradford native Kimberley, 38, had barely spoken to Irish singer Nadine, 35, since their band split back in 2013, but this year’s extended COVID-19 lockdown became the unlikely catalyst for a thawing of relations between the stars.

During an interview with OK! magazine, Kimberley was asked if she’s still in touch with her bandmates, replying: ‘I speak to Cheryl and Nicola [Roberts] all the time anyway, but I have been in touch with Nadine and Sarah [Harding], too.’

She continued: ‘Lockdown has been a time for reflection. Nadine and I were chatting the other day and we’re going to get the kids together as they haven’t met yet.’

The star − who has sons Bobby, five, and Cole, three, with husband Justin Scott − also recalled a raucous post-lockdown playdate with Cheryl’s son Bear, three.

‘We sat and had a cup of tea in the garden – the kids were running wild,’ she said. ‘I was glad it was Cheryl’s garden and not mine! We hadn’t seen each other for months but within two minutes it’s like you’ve had no time apart.’

Back in March, Kimberley revealed that she and Nadine were moving back into the friendship arena, after having a catch-up with her former bandmate.

The singer sweetly admitted that the reunion left her feeling nostalgic and that she has a ‘lot of love’ for the Irish songstress.

Kimberley told The Sun: ‘I saw Nadine the other day in London and it was so nice to catch up with her. It’s been a while. We just bumped into each other at an event. It made me feel nostalgic.’

She added: ‘I’m glad I still get to spend time with the girls and see them.’

Kimberley also teased a potential reunion as the band gear up to celebrate their 20-year anniversary in 2022, although the star admitted that it was a ‘long way off still’.

It comes after Kimberley admitted in November that she and Nadine had ‘drifted apart’ following the Irish singer’s claims that she hadn’t spoken to her Girls Aloud bandmates in six years.

Talking to the Mirror, she said: ‘We don’t really speak often at all. She obviously moved to America and I guess we just sort of drifted apart like you do really.’

It came after Nadine admitted that she didn’t know if she had the full support of her former Girls Aloud bandmates during her stint on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! last summer, because she hadn’t spoken to them in more than half a decade.

The Northern Irish singer, 34, told The Mirror: ‘I spoke to Sarah (Harding) around the time of Big Brother but I haven’t seen or spoken to them since the end of Girls Aloud or just before I had my daughter.

‘So that’s about six years ago. Sarah more recently at the start of Big Brother when she was very excited, but yeah I haven’t spoken to or seen any of them in about that long.’

The admission comes following a long-running feud with former band-mate Cheryl, and a recent admission that the group were ‘never really friends’ during their time together.

‘There was no falling out, there was just no friendship to begin with,’ she told Celebrity Juice in 2018.

Speaking to The Sun, Nadine added that her outspoken nature frequently ruffled her bandmates’ feathers.

‘It was fine at the start but there’s always politics in any band. It just happened that I always got more vocals than everybody else, so in terms of people wanting their voice heard, that wasn’t happening,’ she explained.

‘It made people, very bitter. They didn’t like that. It’s so sad for me to have to admit this stuff now because for so long, there’s the band, and you want everybody to think we’re best friends and we have pillow fights and, you know, drink milkshakes.

‘That’s what I wanted it to be. I really, really wanted that to be, but it just wasn’t how it was. We’re all very, very different characters.’

Nadine’s comments came after Cheryl lashed out at her onetime bandmate, insisting the beginning of the end for Girls Aloud was when Nadine decided to go solo.

When presented with the claim that the split was decided by herself and her bandmates Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh, Cheryl told Attitude in 2014: ‘She’s full of s**t. What d’you want us to say? She’s full of s**t.

‘She was the one who wanted to make a solo record. Which is why we took the hiatus. So she’s not now going to say that we broke up the band. No? That’s it. She wants to come out and say we broke the band up? No!

‘She shouldn’t tell porkie pies. She should remember why we took the hiatus after seven years so she could go and…

‘Okay, so do you want us to tell the truth? She wasn’t going to make another Girls Aloud record until she got a solo deal.

‘I feel she held us to ransom And then made her solo record deal. It’s the truth. She’s saying that we broke the band up. So there you go.’
