A koala is lucky to be alive after almost being run over by a red ute while crossing a busy road.

Eventually the koala clings to a tree on the other side.

A few seconds later the koala crawls away because magpies begin to swoop at him.

The terrifying moment occurred on April 20 last year and was only uploaded to YouTube on Monday.
