The four-time Olympic gold medallist broke her shoulder at a World Cup event in Canada last month and she had admitted her return for the World Championships was a risk.

Kenny landed on the same right side she fell on a month ago and it is unknown if she has caused further damage to her shoulder. She was seen laughing with the British team doctor as she got back to her feet.

The British rider finished fourth in Wednesday’s scratch race and then rode in Thursday’s women’s team pursuit semi-final, before making way for the final, which Great Britain lost to USA to claim silver.
