The Irish presenter went on to say how Caroline, who presented Love Island before handing over the roles to Laura amid her impending court case, had texted her to tell her she wanted her to get the job.

Laura said she loves presenting the dating show but the circumstances in which she was offered the job were devastating.

Love Island was cancelled this summer due to the coronavirus pandemic after launching its first winter series with Laura at the helm earlier this year.
