Leicester have reportedly apologised to Chelsea after a video showed defender Daniel Amartey throwing their club pennant to the ground while celebrating the Foxes’ historic FA Cup Final win.
Brendan Rodgers’ side squeezed past Chelsea 1-0 in the Wembley showpiece on Saturday thanks to Youri Tielemans’ screamer, which saw the club secure their first ever FA Cup trophy in front of 21,000 fans.
Amartey, 26, was filmed on Wesley Fofana’s Instagram Live after the match picking up the ceremonial pennant and flinging it over his head onto the floor – and according to Sky Sports News, Leicester have now said sorry for his actions.

Sky’s report on Monday morning explained the Foxes contacted Chelsea to clear the air ahead of their Premier League match on Tuesday which could help decide Champions League qualification for next season.
The broadcast said: ‘Leicester City have apologised to Chelsea after video emerged of Daniel Amartey throwing their pennant on the floor in the wake of their FA Cup victory celebrations.
‘Chelsea have accepted the apology and always get on very well with Leicester as a club,’ before adding that Amartey has now been formally spoken to by the Foxes.

Club pennants are traditionally exchanged by both sides before a game to mark the occasion while they are kept as memorabilia or framed souvenirs to commemorate the event and are traded as a sign of respect between the two clubs.
Amartey, who has made 17 appearances in all competitions for Leicester this season, was an unused substitute for the FA Cup Final.
Next up, Leicester travel to Chelsea knowing Thomas Tuchel’s side will overtake them if they win the rematch, before hosting Tottenham on the final day of the season.
Chelsea then play Aston Villa in the final Premier League game of the campaign before the Champions League final against Manchester City in Porto on May 29.
