Liverpool’s Harry Wilson set for permanent move to Fulham after the Wales international left the club’s pre-season training camp in Austria

Fulham are closing in on a deal for Liverpool winger Harry Wilson.
The Wales international had been attracting interest from Benfica but the Cottagers have jumped to the head of the queue and the PA news agency understands Craven Cottage now looks like his most likely destination.
Wilson is currently still at the club’s training camp in Austria but was withdrawn from the squad for Friday night’s friendly against manager Jurgen Klopp‘s former club Mainz so as not to jeopardise any transfer.

Wilson made only two first-team appearances for Liverpool, in the League Cup and FA Cup
Liverpool expect to get around £10million for the 24-year-old former academy graduate, who has made just two first-team appearances for the club – in the FA and League Cups – but has spent much of his time on loan at Hull, Derby, Bournemouth and Cardiff.
Wilson made three appearances for Wales at Euro 2020 but did not have the impact he would have wanted and was sent off in the last minute of their 4-0 defeat to Denmark in the last 16.
The midfielder spent the last campaign in the Championship on loan at Cardiff City, where he scored seven goals in 33, and is now set for another season in England’s second-tier.

Fulham managed only one season back in the top flight and finished 18th in the standings.
If Wilson completes a move to Craven Cottage, he will link up with Marco Silva, former coach of Liverpool’s rivals Everton.
Silva was named as Scott Parker’s successor after the former midfielder left the west London club by mutual consent in June.
