Sitting in the middle of the lush green fields of New Zealand stands a grand two-storey home that was put together with just a dozen abandoned shipping containers.

The property overlooking the hills of Waikato, in the country’s north, has six bedrooms, three bathrooms, a pool and space for six cars over 6,221sqm.

An expansive backyard leads to a smaller cottage at the edge of the property along with the garage.

Visitors can enjoy a dip in the infinity pool out the front of the house that is only accessed through an automatic glass door.

The property was built using 12 old containers that cost just $3,000 to $10,000 each.

David Wade started working on the passion project in October 2016 with a grand design to turn discarded containers into a cost-effective building.
