Madonna makes record by becoming first woman to have top 10 albums on the Billboard 200 since ’80s

Madonna has continuously made an impact on the music industry since her career start, and recently made a new record as a music artist.

According to Billboard, the Queen of Pop, 64, has become the very first woman to land Billboard 200 top 10 albums every decade since the release of her debut album, Madonna (1983).

The talented performer is also the only music artist to top any Billboard chart 50 times, reported People.

Queen of Pop: Madonna, 64, has made a new milestone by becoming the first woman to land Billboard 200 Top 10 albums every decade since her start in the ’80s; seen in 2021

The singer released Finally Enough Love, a remix compilation album from Warner Records that became available for purchase earlier this summer on June 24.

The dance remix album is currently sitting at the number eight spot on the Billboard 200 list, and has already become the top-selling album of the week on the Top Album Sales chart.

Madonna’s Finally Enough Love is the first remix album to secure a spot on the top 10 list since Beyoncé’s More Only EP back in 2014, reported Billboard.

Madonna is the 10th person to achieve the milestone of sitting on the Billboard 200 top 10 albums list each decade since the ’80s. The nine before her have been all men, and were either solo artists or in groups, according to the music publication.

Over the course of her long-lasting career, the star has garnered seven Grammy’s, along with 20 MTV Video Music Awards.

The singer’s latest remix album contains a whopping 50 of her most popular dance hits over the years, such as a remix version of Like A Prayer.

When talking to Harper’s Bazaar, Madonna opened up about the name of the album.

‘I named this record Finally Enough Love because at the end of the day, love is what makes the world go round,’ the award-winning performer explained. ‘It also is representative of one of my biggest loves in life, which is dance.’

‘I love to dance, and I love to inspire people to dance, so with 50 number one dance hits, that is a lot of love to share,’ the mother of six added.

The Vogue hitmaker also talked to V Magazine in detail about her new album. ‘Putting this project together was like taking a trip down memory lane. It was a cathartic, emotional experience and brought back so many memories.’

‘I realized how hard I’ve worked, and what an adventurous musical life I’ve led! Most importantly, it made me realize how meaningful dance music has always been to me,’ the star continued.

Madonna discussed how music itself has changed throughout the decades and what she misses the most.

‘It’s so different from the early ‘80s up until now. The music from the ‘80s has a naivety to it and a simplicity which I love and I miss,’ the Material Girl singer stated to the publication.

‘But then we have this new awesome technology at our fingertips and we can make synths sound like a voice, and a voice sound like a percussionist instrument or violins.’
