Man, 19, arrested after shooting four people ages 19 to 28 inside a roller skating rink in New York

A teenager was arrested at a roller rink in New York after he allegedly shot three people, ages 19 to 28. 

Kenyatta Lee, 19, of Buffalo, was charged with criminal possession of a loaded firearm after he allegedly injured three people and shot himself in the toe. 

The shooting took place at Level One, a roller skating rink, around 10.30pm after Lee reportedly got into a dispute near the bar area, Buffalo News reported. 

The victims, all of Buffalo, were transported to the hospital. A 28-year-old man and a 19-year-old female have been listed in stable condition. Another 19-year-old female has been listed in critical condition. 

None of the victims identifies have not been released. 

Since the shooting, Level One has changed its age policy and is now requiring anyone under the age of 21 to be accompanied by a parent.

‘At this time, we would like to take immediate action and change our time [and] age requirement for entering our facility. We will now open no later than 10pm,’ the company said in a statement. 

‘Our age requirement for entering our facility without a parent is now 21 years [and] older,’ it continued. ‘The software we have acquired “Waiver Master” will scan IDs much easier than our previous software. We will still employ a licensed armed guard at our door during these times.’ 

Level One has offered its condolences to the victim’s families, saying: ‘hearts and prayers are with the families…We offer our deepest sympathies and support.’ 

Kevin, who lives near Level One, said shootings ‘don’t usually happen’ at the establish and praised the owner for ‘do something for the community.’ 

‘The kids come to skate and it keeps them off the streets but unfortunately something bad happened,’ he said, according to WGRZ

The owner reportedly blames himself for the violence, but Masten District Common Councilmember Ulysses Wingo said ‘he didn’t create the evil, he didn’t bring the evil he created a safe space to bring people together and someone who allowed evil to overtake them did this at his location.’
