Manchester United without Edinson Cavani and Donny van de Beek for Europa League game with Real Sociedad – with Scott McTominay and Anthony Martial doubts – as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says Paul Pogba won’t be back until next month

Manchester United will be without Donny van de Beek and Edinson Cavani for their UEFA Europa League tie with Real Sociedad in Turin.

Both have picked up muscle injuries and won’t travel to Italy with the squad on Wednesday afternoon, while Scott McTominay and Anthony Martial will need fitness checks on matchday.

With Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirming Paul Pogba will be sidelined until next month with a thigh injury, United face the prospect of being short in midfield for the last-32, first leg encounter.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a number of fitness worries ahead of Manchester United’s meeting with Real Sociedad in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday

‘Donny and Edinson definitely won’t be travelling. They have muscle injuries unfortunately,’ Solskjaer said.

‘We have a couple of doubts – Anthony and Scott – we will check them tomorrow.

‘Paul is recovering well. He is starting the treatment but it will still be a few weeks. He won’t be playing in February.’
