Former MLB All-Star and Glove Glove winner Mark Grudzielanek is currently under investigation by police after he was accused of child abuse, sources familiar with the matter shared. 

The former Kansas City Royal second baseman allegedly committed the assault on March 26 in Scottsdale, Arizona, at around 10.30pm. 

Grudzielanek, 50, is listed as the ‘offender’ in docs while his alleged victim is described as a 12-year-old boy, TMZ reports.

While details surrounding the incident are unclear, a source familiar with the case said that the incident stemmed from a physical altercation. 

Grudzielanek, who played major league baseball from 1995 to 2010, has two sons but it was not clear if they were involved in the altercation.

He played for a number of teams, including the St. Louis Cardinals, the Kansas City Royals and the Minnesota Twins.

Just a year after his rookie season in 1995, the Wisconsin native was selected to be an All-Star.

While with the Royals in 2006, Grudzielanek – who also played shortstop in his career – won the Gold Glove in 2006.

Grudzielanek had a career batting average of .289.
