Married At First Sight: Michael Goonan LEAVES Stacey Hampton as they ‘split up’ on the street

Married At First Sight‘s Michael Goonan and Stacey Hampton ‘split up’ during a huge row on Kent Street in Sydney last year, after he walked out on her during filming.

On October 7, after moving into their CBD apartment together, the couple came to blows before Michael, 28, stormed off, leaving Stacey, 26, stood alone in shock.

‘He was furious and she just stood in disbelief,’ an onlooker tells Daily Mail Australia.

According to the onlooker, they started arguing inside the Skye Suites hotel lobby, where each couple lived during filming, before it spilled out onto the street.

‘They shared a few tense words and then Michael left her, walked around the block a few times and sat making a heated phone call,’ the eyewitness added.

‘Stacey just stood there for like 10 minutes waiting for him to come back and looked upset and like she was crying, before eventually going back inside alone.’

When asked how serious the spat looked, the onlooker said ‘they basically split up’.

However, the incident occurred on Labour Day 2019, during a day off from filming with no camera crew around, meaning it wasn’t captured for the reality show.

This means the couple will have had to then reunite later on to discuss what happened between them on camera, incorporating it onto the show.

They would then have chose to either work through their problems or leave the social experiment at the next commitment ceremony.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Channel Nine for comment.

The clash comes after Stacey kicked Michael out of their apartment on Monday night’s episode, which was filmed shortly before their spat on the street.

After spending a fun day out together, the law graduate explained that her ‘husband’ had gone out drinking and was ‘rude’ when he eventually came home.

‘So last night Michael went out. He came home and he was drunk, being obnoxious, rude and disrespectful towards me,’ she said.

Stacey added: ‘He said he was happy to leave [the experiment and marriage] and never see me again. So, I kicked him out.

‘What makes it worse is that I’ve been through this before. The same thing happened to us on the honeymoon. That’s it, he’s done in my eyes.’
