Married At First Sight’s Ivan Sarakula posts about the sad truth of mobile phones

Married At First Sight’s Ivan Sarakula shares a post about the sad truth of mobile phones – despite being glued to his during lavish honeymoon

Married At First Sight‘s Ivan Sarakula was glued to his mobile phone during part of his honeymoon with ‘wife’ Aleksandra Markovic on Tuesday’s episode.

And in an ironic twist, it seems the Sydney-based real estate agent had voiced his concerns over the impact of technology on relationships.

Back in October 2019 – during the filming of the Channel Nine reality show – he shared a post titled: ‘Look what our phones are doing to us’.

That’s ironic: Married At First Sight’s Ivan Sarakula (left) has shared a post about the sad truth of mobile phones – despite being glued to his during his honeymoon on Tuesday’s episode

The post featured artistic images that showed people glued to their devices and missing out on spending quality time with their family or partners.

The irony of the images comes after Ivan’s work phone continuously interrupted his honeymoon with Aleksandra.

He continued to field calls from his business despite having checked into a lavish suite at the Palazzo Versace Gold Coast – much to his ‘wife’s’ dismay.

Later in the day, as the couple enjoyed a ride in a Rolls Royce around the town, Ivan looked for his phone to show a picture of his pet dog but was unable to find it.

The pair returned back to the hotel where he found the device underneath the well-crafted seats.

Anxious to get his phone immediately, he tried to lift up the seat but was told to stop by the driver and later by a hotel customer service representative.

The next day Ivan was told the car would have to be taken to the Rolls Royce dealer for his phone to be retrieved and that it would be returned to him in a week.

Despite this, he maintained a calm and reasonable outlook.

Ivan told producers: ‘The old Ivan would’ve been a little more pissed off about the telephone debacle, but lucky I’ve got a lovely bride to take my mind off things.’

Meanwhile, Aleksandra said: ‘I was actually quite shocked. I thought he would scream and have tantrums.

‘I’m really proud of him in how far he’s gotten since I first met him. I’ve seen a softer side of Ivan,’ she added.
