She’s the MasterChef Australia judge with a passion for food and fine dining. 

But Melissa Leong has revealed that she also loves a bit of fast food – and in fact, will happily travel for a certain burger from McDonald’s.

There, the 40-year-old picks up the McDonald’s Ebi Burger, which is normally only available on Japanese menus at the chain. 

‘No trip to Japan is quite complete without an Ebi burger’ she raved in her column this week. 

‘Filet-o-fish will always have my heart, but a deep-fried prawn burger is another thing entirely.’

The popular menu item includes a tempura-coated shrimp patty with Thousand Island sauce. 

Housed in a sesame seed bun, the burger also includes crispy lettuce. 

It comes after the television  revealed her favourite restaurant back home in Sydney.

Melissa said her ‘heart was full’ in a gushing post she shared on Instagram as she enjoyed platefuls of Italian food at Fratelli Paradiso in Potts Point. 

‘It’s hard to find the right words to explain how I feel about this place,’ she said. 

She continued: ‘Hospitality is a feeling, a natural instinct and a way of life. It is something that speaks to each of us, and when it’s real, you know it.’

The food critic went onto explain how ‘happy’ she was to be out while sharing plates of prosciutto, calamari and pasta with her girlfriends.
