Matthew Perry was accompanied by a female friend on Thursday morning as he stepped out for coffee in Los Angeles

The former Friends star wore a loose fitting grey T-shirt and black jeans while venturing into a local café, where he purchased a takeaway drink. 

Perry, 52, added to a notably relaxed look by wearing trainers that were missing their laces during his latest infrequent public appearance.

The actor pulled on a plaid shirt as he made his way back towards his car alongside his female friend, whose athletic physique was accentuated by her crop top and leggings.

A household name thanks to his role as the disarming Chandler Bing in Friends, Perry’s radically different appearance contributed to him passing by without unwanted attention. 

The actor is understood to be single after calling off his engagement to literary manager Molly Hurwitz in June 2021.

Fans noticed Perry’s slurred speech in promos, which was later addressed as due to an ’emergency tooth procedure’ performed on the day of filming. 

The Massachusetts-born, Ottawa-raised actor’s confession lead Emmy winner Lisa Kudrow – who played Phoebe Buffay – to respond with concern that the cast ‘never knew that.’

Perry will be speaking out about his story in more detail as he announced that his memoir, Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing, will be out this year.

‘The highs were high, the lows were low. But I have lived to tell the tale, even though at times it looked like I wouldn’t. And it’s all in here,’ the Whole Nine Yards star shared on his Instagram in regards to the book.

The memoir is set to hit the shelves on November 1.
