Minivan filmed driving wrong way on a Colorado Interstate

Shocked drivers swerve to avoid a head-on collision with an SUV driving the wrong way up a Colorado highway

This is the heartstopping moment a motorist was faced with a mini van travelling the wrong way down the interstate in Colorado

Dashcam footage showed an SUV driving ahead on the I-70 outside Golden, Colorado when it suddenly swerved onto the emergency lane. 

The footage then showed a mini van only seconds away from smashing head first into the victim.

When the minivan was approaching, the motorist received only a couple of seconds warning because their view was obscured by the large SUV ahead

According to the driver, who has not been identified: ‘Was driving down west I-70 with 3 friends behind me heading to some hot springs when a car coming head-on almost hit all 4 of us forcing us to swerve out of the way.’ 

Shockingly, while the motorist dived onto the emergency lane, the Chevrolet mini van crossed over the yellow line, almost side swiping the car. 

Following the narrow near miss, the driver took more than 30 seconds before returning to the main carriageway. 

Social media users who have viewed the footage asked why the confused motorist found themselves driving on the wrong carriageway and suggested they should have pulled over on the emergency lane to await rescue.
