Operator: ‘Ok tell me what happened’

AH: ‘She came downstairs and started shouting and that and I… just stabbed her’.

He then gave his address and her details.

Operator: ‘is she awake?’

AH: ‘No.’

Operator: ‘is she breathing?’

AH: ‘Yes, she’s breathing a bit.’

Operator: ‘Where is she?’

AH: ‘She’s on the floor.’

Operator: ‘Is she bleeding?’

AH: ‘I can’t see it at all.’

Operator: ‘Where did you stab her?’

AH: ‘In the belly.’

Operator: ‘Ok, is there blood round her belly?’

AH: ‘I don’t know I can’t see it.’

Operator: ‘What is your relationship to the patient

AH: ‘I’m her husband. I can’t get to her. I can’t pick anything up I can’t roll her over.’

Operator: ‘Ok, we need to stop that bleeding, you need to get a clean towel, press it to the wound firmly and don’t look at it, ok?’

AH: ‘yeah, I can’t see it.’

Operator: ‘Ok, where are you right now?

AH: ‘I’m on the couch, I’m sat with her. She got dressed up and come downstairs and that’s happened. I can’t move her at all.’

Operator: ‘Ok, you need to get her on a flat surface, you need to get her onto the floor.’

AH: ‘I can’t move her, I’ve got two sticks, I can’t get her over at all.’

Operator: ‘Is she breathing.’

AH: ‘I can see her chest coming up.’

Operator: ‘Is there anybody around?’

AH: ‘No it’s just us.’

Operator: ‘Are there any neighbours around to help you?’

AH: ‘There’s nobody. I can’t life her up, she’s too heavy. I don’t think she’s breathing. She just came down and that was it. I don’t think I will be able to move her.’
