A man has died and another has been arrested following a suspected road rage incident.

Two cars were involved in a minor collision heading East on the Brighton Road at Shoreham.

It is believed the cars collided before the drivers confronted each other.

The dead man is believed to have suffered a heart attack.

Sussex Police said a man had been arrested following the incident, which took place  on the A259 at around 4pm this afternoon.

A spokesman said they were called to reports of a man suffering a medical emergency at the wheel of his car.

A Sussex Police spokeswoman said: ‘Emergency services were called to a report of a man suffering a medical episode at the wheel of his car following a minor collision with another vehicle on the Brighton Road, Shoreham, near the Saltings roundabout.

‘The man is receiving medical treatment from paramedics and one man has been arrested in connection with the incident.’  

This evening Sussex Police could not confirm eyewitness reports the man had died at the scene, nor what the other man had been arrested for.
