Neymar has taken to Twitter to share his disappointment at missing PSG’s Champions League clash with Barcelona due to injury.

Neymar has been ruled out of PSG’s Round of 16 tie against his old club after he picked up an injury in the Ligue 1 side’s 1-0 French Cup win over Caen.

Neymar took to social media to explain how the game was in the ‘top three’ most important fixtures he ‘wanted to play’.

Neymar’s tweet read: ‘Top 3 of the games I most wanted to play’ and was following with a crying face emoji.

Having already had his star player hit once, PSG Manager Mauricio Pochettino was about to take matters into his own hands during the Caen game…before he was hit again.

As a result, Neymar left of his own accord in the 59th minute and was reportedly seen limping after the game.

A series of scans on Thursday revealed that Neymar had suffered a groin injury and that he would most likely be ruled out for a month.

Such a time scale will see him not only miss Tuesday’s meeting with his former club Barcelona but also the return leg in Paris.

Neymar has been vocal in his belief that opposition players are too aggressive against him, and previously took to Instagram to vent his fury following news he will miss a reunion against Barcelona.

In a lengthy post, Neymar said he was ‘uncomfortable’ on the pitch due to fear of being injured and spoke of his ‘sadness’ about his situation.

He Wrote: ‘The sadness is great, the pain is immense and the crying is constant.

‘Once again I will stop doing what I love most in life for a while, which is playing football.

‘Sometimes I feel uncomfortable due to my style of play, because I dribble and end up getting assaulted constantly.

‘I don’t know if the problem is me or what I do on the field … it really saddens me.

‘It makes me so sad to have to hear from a player, coach, commentator or the f****** No.4 (Caen player) ‘he really has to be beaten’ ‘falls down’ ‘crying kid’ ‘spoiled’ and etc …

‘Honestly it saddens me and I don’t know how long I can take it, I just want to be happy playing football. THAT’S IT.’
