Despite being an ever-present part of Frank Lampard’s Blues side this season, Kante has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge, with Real Madrid reportedly keen admirers of the 29-year-old.

Inter are looking to bolster their midfield after a mixed start to the Italian season, which sees them outside Serie A’s top four after six matches played.

And according to French news outlet Canal+, via Goal, Conte has identified the French international midfielder as a key potential addition to his Serie A side.

The Italian manager brought Conte to Chelsea when he first joined as the west Londoners’ manager in 2016.

The midfielder made an immediate impact at Stamford Bridge as Conte’s Chelsea lifted the Premier League title during the Italian’s first season in England.

While Conte was replaced as Chelsea manager by Maurizio Sarri in 2018, Kante has remained a vital part of the Blues midfield and is close to surpassing the 200 appearance mark in all competitions for the club.

Kante, who also a contract in west London until 2023, has also won the World Cup with France during his time at Chelsea, with the midfielder making 42 international appearances since his Les Bleus debut in 2016.

According to Italian media, Inter manager Conte is currently planning a raid of his former club – with as many as three Chelsea players on the coach’s radar.

According to Football Italia, Conte wants to bring in exiled Blues striker Olivier Giroud as back-up for Romelu Lukaku.

The French forward was another player signed by Conte at Chelsea, with the 34-year-old scoring 29 goals in 94 matches since joining the club in January 2018.

Full-backs Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri, who both have history of playing in Serie A, are also reported targets for Inter Milan in the coming transfer windows.

Both players have been pushed down the pecking order by new £50million left-back Ben Chilwell, who joined from Leicester City this summer.

The potential raid on Chelsea would be yet another influx of Premier League signings made by Conte, after the Inter Milan coach signed Ashley Young, Romelu Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez and Victor Moses last season.
