Nick Kyrgios has revealed he was once distracted by an attractive fan in the crowd during a match against Roger Federer

The Australian admitted that he ‘wanted to take her out for a drink,’ and added that when he is not seeing someone, he is distracted by attractive fans on a weekly basis.

The 25-year-old, who has not returned to the pro tour since it restarted following the coronavirus crisis, used to go out with Russian tennis player Anna Kalinskaya, 21, but they broke up in March and he has now made more headlines in a Q&A with fans whilst playing fortnite with Twitch user babztv1.

Kyrgios explained to those watching: ‘Yes. In all seriousness, if I’m not seeing someone, it’s a weekly thing.

‘I was slicing up “Fedz” [Roger Federer] and was like, “Damn.” I wanted to take her out for a drink.

‘Eastern Europeans just have my heart on the get-go. Tall Eastern Europeans I’m just like, “Take half my earnings.”

The outspoken Kyrgios has recently been in a war of words with ex-players Mats Wilander and Boris Becker too about a variety of issues, and also had a pop at world number one Novak Djokovic last month.

The controversial Australian star, who did not appear at this year’s US Open or French Open due to COVID-19 fears, posted a poll on Twitter last month asking how many years he would be banned for if he had hit a ball at a line judge like Djokovic did in New York.

Djokovic was disqualified from the tournament and lost all of his $250,000 prize money as a result, and Kyrgios insists he will keep highlighting bad behaviour, particularly surrounding the pandemic.

‘I’m just trying to hold people accountable for their actions. You can’t compare what someone does off the court to on the court,’ Kyrgios said in Canberra last month, where his NK Foundation was part of a government plan to open a new tennis centre.

‘When I see some people making mistakes, I’m not going to bring it up, but if they defend it and continually make the same mistakes, especially in a global pandemic, I’m going to say something about it.

‘I’m not saying it just to bring some attention to myself, I’m genuinely trying to pull people in line who need to be pulled in to line. We have to work as a team otherwise it’s going to be ongoing.

‘Sport is not going to be the same. I don’t want to live with restrictions. I want things to go back to normal.’
