Nicky Brownless and Garry Lyon appear loved-up as they attend the Australian open

Nicky Brownless and Garry Lyon appear more loved-up than ever despite their scandalous beginnings as they attend the Australian Open

It’s been five years since Nicky left her husband Billy Brownless for his best mate.

And on Sunday, Nicky Brownless and Garry Lyon looked more loved-up than ever as they attended the Australian Open together.

The former AFL star was beaming as he tenderly placed his arm over Nicky’s shoulder as they arrived at Melbourne Park.

Garry cut a stylish figure in white shorts and a black linen shirt, which he paired with suede loafers.

The 53-year-old carried a face mask with him amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and he shaded his eyes with a pair of sunglasses.

Meanwhile, Nicky looked chic in a red and white patterned dress with red strappy sandals.

She completed her look with a beige cross-body bag and wore her long blonde locks loose in a straight-sleek style.

The 50-year-old beauty appeared to be wearing minimal makeup for the outing and wore a pair of cat-eye sunglasses.

The pair appeared smitten, gazing into each others eyes and holding hands as they strolled through the grounds.

Garry controversially went public with Nicky, who is the ex-wife of his close friend and former Footy Show co-host Billy Brownless, in 2016.

Following the initial flurry of negative headlines, the pair have kept a relatively low profile and are rarely pictured out and about together.

Garry blindsided Billy four years ago by starting a relationship with his wife of 18 years, just 12 months after they separated.

A month after the scandal made headlines, the Geelong legend revealed how the affair had impacted his family, saying ‘a good mate wouldn’t do that’.

Billy also sensationally confessed that Garry and Nicky’s secret relationship could have been going on for years.

‘I couldn’t believe it. I found out three or four months ago. I asked Garry and Nicky earlier on what is going on and they said they were just good friends. That’s what hurts the most,’ he said on The AFL Footy Show at the time.

‘By law it’s legal; morally it’s wrong. We all know our rights and wrongs. You don’t touch a man’s wallet; you don’t touch his wife.’

In September last year, Billy revealed the two men had since settled their differences over the incident.

Billy told the You Cannot Be Serious podcast that he was in a ‘good spot’ with both his ex-wife and Garry, but admitted the process of reconciliation had ‘taken time’.
