Northern Ireland 1-1 Romania: Late goal cancels out Liam Boyce’s opener to deny first Nations League win for Ian Baraclough’s relegated side

  • Liam Boyce put Northern Ireland ahead in the 56th minute from a set-piece 
  • Eric Bicfalvi scored in final 10 minutes for Romania to level the game up 
  • Northern Ireland finished bottom of their Nations League B group 

Nothern Ireland were denied a positive end to their Nations League B campaign after a late Romania goal secured a 1-1 draw at Windsor Park.

The hosts made the breakthrough in the second half when a well-worked routine saw Boyce provide the finish at the back post for his second international goal.

Romania hit back just under 10 minutes from time as Eric Bicfalvi steered home to level the game up.
