Now FBI searches University of Delaware for more Biden classified documents

FBI has raided University of Delaware TWICE to probe Biden’s ‘mishandling’ of classified documents – but didn’t find any secret papers there

  • The FBI carried out two searches at the University of Delaware in connection President Biden’s classified documents case. None were found
  • Archives from Biden’s time as a senator and documents sent to the university recently were among the materials retrieved
  • Comes after documents were found at Biden’s Wilmington, Delaware home and his think tank in Washington, D.C. in recent months

The FBI raided the University of Delaware twice in recent weeks while probing President Joe Biden’s mishandling of classified documents, but didn’t find any secret papers.

A source familiar with the investigation told CNN that agents and investigations carried out two searches on two separate days at the college in Biden’s home state.

No classified material was found, the Wall Street Journal later reported.

Separate batches of materials retrieved from the university were taken from at least two different locations at the school and are now being reviewed by the FBI.

DailyMail.com revealed earlier this month that the business partner of the president’s son Hunter Biden was tasked with moving archives to the university in 2010. The documents Eric Schwerin was moving were sensitive enough to require the involvement of White House lawyers.

The latest search comes after it was revealed at least 16 documents with classified markings were found at Biden’s Washington, D.C. think tank and his home in Wilmington, Delaware.

Biden’s legal team cooperated and consented to the searches, according to the source. They were both conducted in recent weeks as the documents scandal heats up.

Documents with classified markings were found at the homes of Biden, former President Donald Trump and former Vice President Mike Pence within the last several months – leading to concerns over how executives handle this sensitive material after they leave office.

Materials taken from the university by the FBI include an archive of materials from Biden’s time in the U.S. Senate and documents sent to the university in recent years.

The archive includes more than 1,850 boxes of records sent to the university in 2012, according to the University of Delaware, which have not been open or viewed by the public since arriving there more than a decade ago.

Eric Schwerin, Hunter Biden’s Rosemont Seneca partner who handled the president’s taxes and personal affairs, was in charge of moving this massive archive of files from the then-vice president’s DC office as they were donated to the University of Delaware in 2010.

Those documents, mainly from Biden’s decades as a Delaware senator, also included Obama-Biden presidential transition team papers.

The revelation of the turn over of documents to the university is the latest piece of evidence tying Hunter to his father’s potential mishandling of classified documents.

Biden, who was vice president at the time, donated thousands of archives from his Senate career to the special collections department at the library of the University of Delaware. Biden’s Department of Justice (DOJ) has also faced criticism over the handling and timing of the investigation into the president’s classified documents scandal.

While documents were found by Biden’s legal team in early November and handed over to the DOJ on November 4. An investigation, however, was not opened until November 9 – one day after the 2022 midterm elections, which the Democratic Party was favored to lose.

The first report of the documents didn’t come out until early January, leading to even more questions over why the public wasn’t informed about the probe until well after the elections despite the discovery coming days before election day.
