NOW we can get Brexit done! Nigel Farage and jubilant Brexiteers celebrate as exit poll confirms huge Tory majority

  • Exit poll predicts a huge majority for Boris Johnson and his Conservative party
  • The Prime Minister has promised to ‘get Brexit done’ – his key campaign mantra
  • Jeremy Corbyn failed to make position on Brexit clear throughout the election

Jubilant Brexiteers are celebrating tonight after the exit poll showed that the Conservatives are set for a huge general election victory.

Brexit has dominated this year’s election with the phrase ‘Let’s get Brexit Done’ becoming Boris Johnson‘s mantra.

And with the exit poll showing a significant majority for the Tories, the UK looks set to finally leave the EU on January 31.

According to the poll, released at 10pm, the Conservatives will get 368 seats, a majority of 86 seats.

Jeremy Corbyn failed to make his position on Brexit clear throughout the election, instead promising a new deal and a second referendum next year.

Under his plans, a Labour government would have negotiated a different deal to Mr Johnson’s, before putting it to the people within six months.

However, Labour’s crushing defeats leaves Mr Johnson free to pursue his plan and promises to end three years of Brexit chaos.

Before the nation went to the polls, the Prime Minister underlined his commitment to get Brexit done.

He said: ‘To every one of you who is fed up with the endless arguments and wants to move on, every one of you who wants us to respect the referendum result and deliver the change people voted for, every one of you who wants us to focus on a positive, united future, every one of you who worries about the chaos of a Corbyn-Sturgeon alliance in a hung parliament, my message is simple.’
