Phillip Schofield left HORRIFIED as caller reveals presenter refused to give his daughter an autograph because he was ‘too busy’

Phillip Schofield was left horrified on Monday’s episode of This Morning when a caller revealed the host had once refused to give his daughter his autograph.

The presenter, 58, looked mortified during the awkward moment which happened during the Spin To Win segment.

Mike, from Bristol, couldn’t resist telling the tale of when his daughter Honey asked for the star’s signature when he was in the city doing a balloon ride many years ago.

He said: ‘We followed you, my daughter ran to the balloon.

‘She tells me this story many many times, she asked you for your autograph and you said you were too busy.’

The This Morning crew then booed the star, whose face fell as the story was told.

Phillip then retorted: ‘I was probably hanging out of a balloon at the time!’

To make up for his past blunder, Phillip wrote a message for his fan writing: ‘To Honey, not too busy this time!! With love, Phillip Schofield x.’

Phillip also helped Mike with the answer to win him the cash prize.

Elsewhere in the show the presenter became visibly emotional as he spoke with caller Brian, 75, who is struggling with being separated from his wife of 46 years after she went into a care home.

In support of the ITV Britain Get Talking mental wellness campaign, Phillip and co-host Holly Willoughby spoke to real people about the struggles they have faced.

Brian revealed he was in the army for 22 years and his wife used to send him letters in.

As he told his story, Brian broke down with Phillip stepping in to tell his story.

He said: ‘His wife’s gone into a care home with dementia, he has not seen her since the beginning of lockdown. Brian is 75 and has one daughter who lives far away and he doesn’t want to bother her with this.’

He added: ‘The advice is to call the GP and the AGE UK silver line – also your daughter, you created her you’re part of the fabric of her world just give her a call after this and say you’re struggling.

‘This is difficult for her, you’re denying the opportunity for her to help. I know you’re in the army and it must be tough… but you need to reach out.

Phillip then asked Brian to stay on the phone, saying they may be able to help from the studio, as he became visibly teary-eyed.
