Police officer charged with using abusive language, unjustified use of pepper spray and unlawful assault faces court

A Victorian police officer accused of unlawful assault has faced court.

Tristan Zerafa, 34, has been charged with unlawful assault, discharging pepper spray without justification and abusive language at Sunbury, in Melbourne‘s northwest, in December 2019.

Zerafa’s matter was heard on Thursday at Broadmeadows Magistrates Court, where an adjournment seeking to have matter heard in Melbourne was granted.

The Brookfield man will next face court on May 11.
