Poor pup had to wear sunscreen and a jacket after groomer shaved totality of his fluffy mane off

An owner was left unable to recognize her own dog – after a groomer shaved all the pet’s fur off, despite being asked to give him a ‘trim’.

Nanuk, a seven-year-old Samoyed from Florida, was left bald and had to wear sunscreen and a jacket after his surprise haircut.

Owner Carley Coca, 28, says she asked her local groomer for a ‘trim of his upper coat’, but couldn’t stop laughing when she saw the end result.

With all his fur gone, Nanuk looked more like a British Bull Terrier than the fluffy Samoyed.

Fluffy Samoyed Nanuk, seven, from Florida, was known for his white mane ever since he was a pup, but ended up bald after a misunderstanding led a groomer to shave all his fluff off (pictured before the ordeal). His owner Carley Coca, 28, did not recognize him when she came to pick him up from his appointment

Carley recalled that when she went to collect him from the groomers, she walked past the naked pooch – whose fur took a year to grow back properly.

The occupational therapy doctorate student, said: ‘When I went to pick up Nanuk from the dog groomers, I literally said out loud, “That’s not my dog”.

‘The groomer assured me, it was Nanuk and I even had to call him to check, but he looked like a complete different breed.

‘Nanuk seemed to love the haircut – he acted so proud. But he’d never looked like that before, I was so shocked.

‘Even as a puppy, he’d always been so fluffy. He’s got a hilarious personality – he’s just one big stubborn goof, and without all his fur?

‘I couldn’t stop laughing – I remember saying, “Can you just trim the long hairs off his feet and ears?”.

‘It was awful really, because the man who had groomed him was obviously so proud of his work, so I felt like I just had to smile and let it go.

‘You do have to be careful with Samoyed fur, and they shouldn’t be cut like that really, but he was never cold – he honestly seemed to love it.

‘Although I did love having to put sunscreen on him, and at one point even a t-shirt to try and protect him.’

Carley and her husband Michael Coca, 28, a tax accountant, now take Nanuk and their two rescue pups Sadie and Mucca to a different groomer and were relieved when Nanuk’s hair grew back completely normally.
