Her western-style frock was accented with a pair of more Indian-influenced gold earrings, as well as an ornately designed belt.

Priyanka, who spent a decade as a Bollywood star before breaking into Hollywood, accentuated her screen siren features with makeup.

The theme of this year’s fashion show was Pride Of India and, as Priyanka said on the runway, it celebrated the ‘blending of cultures’ from around the country.

Priyanka also happens to serve as brand ambassador for Blenders Pride, an Indian whiskey brand owned by Pernod Ricard.

After walking the runway at Saturday’s show Priyanka delivered a tribute to the late Indian fashion designer Wendell Rodricks.

Wendell suffered a heart attack at his home in Goa and was pronounced dead on February 12 at the age of 59.

‘It’s only apt on a night like this, in the presence of so many luminaries from the Indian fashion industry, that we remember Wendell Rodricks,’ said Priyanka.

‘He was a pioneer, he was a visionary of Indian fashion and he will always and forever be missed,’ she added in a speech Blenders Pride posted to Facebook.

She was joined onstage by some of the creme de la creme of India’s couture industry, including Manish Malhotra, Anju Modi and Namrata Joshipura.

The group included the double-act of Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, who designed Priyanka’s look for one of the functions preceding her wedding to Nick Jonas.

Nick and Priyanka had both Christian and Hindu weddings in December 2018 at Umaid Bhawan, a formerly royal palace in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.

The day between the two weddings she attended her Mehendi in a frock by Abu and Sandeep, who are renowned for their work on such Bollywood movies as Devdas.

Typically held the day before a wedding, the Mehendi is when the bride, as well as female guests at the nuptials, have henna tattoos applied to their hands.

Last month Wendell publicly criticized Priyanka’s flesh-flashing Grammys dress, which featured a neckline that plunged to her waist.

He quipped that her ‘neckline goes all the way from LA to Cuba’ and argued that ‘There is an age to wear some clothes. Men with huge bellies should not wear tight T shirts. Same with women who wear minis past a certain age.’

Although his remarks set off a bit of a controversy, Priyanka’s mother Madhu said after his death: ‘We hold no grudges against Wendell. Disagreements happen and one shouldn’t keep it forever.’

She pointed out that Priyanka and Wendell worked together on her acclaimed 2008 movie Fashion, which exposed the dark side of Bombay’s modeling industry.
