PSG star Kylian Mbappe is ‘ONLY interested in a move to Real Madrid or Liverpool this summer’

Kylian Mbappe is ‘ONLY interested in a move to Real Madrid or Liverpool this summer after Reds owner John W Henry schmoozed Frenchman’s family on a private jet back in 2017… but PSG’S Qatari owners dream he will be their poster boy for 2022 World Cup’

  • Kylian Mbappe’s future is up in the air with his contract at PSG expiring in 2022
  • The 22-year-old will reportedly only consider a move to Real Madrid or Liverpool
  • A transfer to the Bernabeu is the French World Cup winner’s ‘childhood dream’
  • But Reds owner John W Henry left an impression during a two-hour chat in 2017
  • Meanwhile, PSG’s owners want Mbappe to stay until at least the 2022 World Cup

PSG star Kylian Mbappe is reportedly only interested in a move to two clubs this summer should he decide to leave: Real Madrid or Liverpool.

The 22-year-old striker scored a stunning hat-trick on Tuesday night against Barcelona in the Champions League and, with his contract at the Parc des Princes expiring in 2022, speculation about his future has been rife this week.

Now, French outlet L’Equipe report that while a move to Real Madrid is Mbappe’s ‘childhood dream’, Liverpool owner John W Henry left a favourable impression on the Frenchman and his family after they took his private jet to fly them around the bay in Nice back in 2017.

The report details that Henry and Mbappe & his family had a chat for around two hours, and that Henry left a ‘great impression.’

However, PSG’s Qatari owners are keen for Mbappe to stay in the French capital until at least the next World Cup, which takes place from November-December 2022 in Qatar.

For that to happen, a contract extension will have to be agreed between PSG and Mbappe – with no decision yet taken by the player about his long-term future.

Yesterday, Le Parisien reported that the 22-year-old is leaning towards a new challenge but PSG would want a fee of at least €200m (£174m) – with Madrid, Liverpool, Manchester City and Juventus the only four clubs who can afford him.

Mbappe stole the show at the Nou Camp on Tuesday evening, scoring a breathtaking hat-trick to give Mauricio Pochettino’s side a 4-1 lead heading into the second leg of their last-16 clash.

Barcelona simply could not deal with the 22-year-old in the Champions League on Tuesday

His first was a clinical left footed finish into the roof of the net to cancel out Lionel Messi’s penalty, while his second and third were clinical strikes with his right foot to take the tie away from Barca.

Ex-Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand believes Mbappe is now ‘out on his own’ and is set to take over from Ronaldo and Messi as the best player in the world.

‘I just feel that he’s the guy now that’s going to take the throne, take the crown, he’s standing alone at the moment,’ Ferdinand told BT Sport.

‘It’s for everybody to catch up to him now. This guy is going to take over the throne from Messi and Ronaldo when they’re done with it.

Mbappe has one year left on his PSG contract and is reportedly keen for a different challenge

‘He’s given a statement, this is me now, I’m the man for this big stage.’

Mbappe was part of the PSG side which finished runners-up in last year’s competition, when they missed out to Bayern Munich in the final in Lisbon.

Since moving to PSG from Monaco in 2017, Mbappe has won three Ligue 1 titles in a row but is yet to taste European success with the club.
