Raheem Sterling has tested negative for coronavirus after attending Usain Bolt’s birthday party, with the Olympic legend having confirmed he has the illness on Monday. 

The news will come as a relief for both Manchester City and England, with the winger able to join up with Gareth Southgate‘s side for international duty.

Sterling ‘feels fine’ and is ‘showing no symptoms’, according to Sky Sports, but he will be tested again in the coming days.

Sterling undertook the Covid-19 test in Jamaica after moving swiftly to find out whether he had contracted the illness. 

Athletics icon Bolt had confirmed his positive test on Monday with a video on Twitter and said he is not experiencing any symptoms so far. 

The news came after he was filmed partying with guests at his 34th birthday bash in his homeland with celebrity guests including the City star in attendance.  

Videos showed attendees singing, dancing, and standing close together under a large awning during the celebrations.
