Real Housewives Of Atlanta: NeNe Leakes finally makes up with Eva Marcille on trip after long feud

NeNe Leakes finally made up with Eva Marcille on Sunday’s episode of The Real Housewives Of Atlanta, ending a feud that had gone on for nearly a year.

The two women made peace on a cast trip to Toronto’s Caribbean Carnival, with NeNe, 52, yearning for the ‘sisterhood’ they once shared.

Eva, 35, called out NeNe during RHOA’s season 11 reunion for having worn a mic during what she thought was a private discussion and NeNe was dismissive.

NeNe changed her tune in Toronto telling Eva: ‘I didn’t mean to hurt your feelings. I apologize for that. And I hope you can understand where I’m coming from, too.’

Everyone applauded as they hugged.

It was a somewhat promising sign that things might be turning around for NeNe, who’d been battling with much of the cast.

NeNe, however, couldn’t refrain from taking another dig at castmate Porsha Williams, 38, who she also hoped to mend fences with after a falling out.

NeNe and Porsha had been at war since NeNe texted the new mom that she was a ‘big piggy with the busted shape,’ which Porsha then Tweeted with the hashtag #FatShamingANewMomShameOnYou.

NeNe intimated that it had been a private matter that Porsha took public, which incensed her.

‘She went into this fat-shaming and all this stuff,’ NeNe told Eva, as they sat at a restaurant in Toronto’s CN Tower. ‘I’m like, ”No I wasn’t. You were fat before you got pregnant”.’

It was a particularly ill-timed comment, considering that the episode ended with a glimpse of Dennis McKinley, Porsha’s ex-fiancé, proposing to her again.

Dennis cheated on Porsha while she was pregnant with their daughter Pilar Jhena, born in March.

The trip to Toronto’s annual Caribbean Carnival had been organized by friend of the show and Toronto native Tanya Sam, 41.

All of the women were excited for the multi-day celebration of West Indian culture and music, and gathered to try on the skimpy costumes they’d wear on parade day.

‘The costumes are about pageantry,’ explained Tanya, who’d enlisted a pal to make the outfits. ‘Sequins, over-the-top, bedazzled… you can’t just go grab these at the store.’

Cynthia Bailey, 52, decided to try hers on elsewhere, wanting to avoid conflict with NeNe.

She’d recently learned that someone had recorded her talking badly about her old friend, and was still unsure which person in their circle had turned on her.

‘Since the snake is still somewhere probably in this very room, slithering around, I will just slide on up to my room to do my fitting,’ Cynthia noted. ‘I don’t want to get bit with my ass out.’

But NeNe was focused on something else entirely, taking Eva aside to discuss the incident that had driven them apart the year before.

‘I just want to say, anything that I’ve done wrong, I just want to own my own stuff,’ NeNe told Eva. ‘But I don’t understand what happened to you and I. ‘

‘I was having a vulnerable moment,’ Eva explained, referring to the moment she’d asked NeNe to speak to her privately all those months before, and NeNe remained mic’ed.

‘It was a moment I felt I was having in privacy with a friend. And you, of all people, knew how deep that was for me.’

‘And then when I expressed it to you, I felt like you had no remorse or any kind of feelings about it. So that’s why I’m just like, ”Well, I guess that’s where we at it with it”.’

NeNe apologized and admitted in a confessional that she wanted to get back to a ‘better place’ with all of her castmates.

‘I’m happy to just move on with Eva, because it really isn’t that deep,’ she considered. ‘I’m hoping I can have the same type of reconciliation with Cynthia and Porsha.’

Kenya Moore, 48, a longtime foe of NeNe’s, was cynical when she heard the news.

‘NeNe has no other choice but to seem as though she’s taking accountability, because she is over there on a dusty old island by herself, and nobody will play with her,’ she opined.

‘First it was Kandi [Burruss, 43], then Tanya, now Eva. Next must be Porsha and Cynthia, ’cause she’s not coming over here. She gives zero Fs about me,’ Kenya said.

After the costume fitting, the women headed to the CN Tower for EdgeWalk, an activity that would see them suit up and ‘walk’ around the building’s exterior.

‘There’s no better team-building than risking our lives together as a group of sisters,’ Tanya insisted, as the cast tried to get out of doing it.

‘I’m not hanging off the side of a building,’ said NeNe, who had a fear of heights. ‘Uh-uh. I’m black, honey. We don’t hang off sides of buildings.’

She and Eva, who was pregnant, opted instead to dine at the tower’s restaurant, 1,168 feet up, above where the women would do EdgeWalk.

As they ascended in their glass elevator, NeNe screamed in terror, as Eva laughed hysterically.

The rest of the cast was terrified, too, especially when they stepped outside the tower in their suits, and saw that they were 116 stories above the ground.

‘I don’t like this,’ Cynthia fretted, grabbing the loop that tied her to a railing. ‘I’m scared.’

‘I am deathly afraid,’ Kenya agreed. ‘I just hope no one tries to push me over the edge.’

Only Kandi was in her element, sliding herself backwards on the metal ledge surrounding the building until nearly her whole body was over the air.

‘I am a thrill-seeker,’ she admitted. ‘And this is right up my alley. I love stuff like this.’

At the restaurant, NeNe told Eva about her desire to make up with Porsha, but couldn’t keep herself from making that dig about Porsha’s weight.

‘NeNe,’ Eva warned. ‘That’s mean.’

Below them, the women went through their paces with EdgeWalk, yelping in fear as they moved closer to the edge. When it was over, they danced in a circle, relieved.

Kandi—the only one to take real risks—laughed as she watched them celebrate.

‘They really thought they did something, like, ”Great job! Great job!” she said in a confessional. ‘Cornballs.’

At the hotel later, Porsha received flowers from Dennis after they resumed talking again.

‘I’m not gonna lie,’ she confessed. ‘It does feel good to be getting wooed by Dennis. He’s trying to work on his family, girl. Bless God for that.’

‘Dog-gone it I’m sorry!’ read the card that came with the flowers, which Porsha thought had to do with Dennis being ‘in the doghouse.’

She’d told Dennis she was going to a party with the rapper Drake and Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, when in fact she was heading to Tanya’s family party later that night.

As she dressed, Dennis arrived at the hotel bearing an engagement ring, ready to surprise her.

‘I’m gonna have to get back on one knee,’ he told Tanya, coming in behind her fiancé Paul. ‘I’m on a mission.’

On the bus to the party, the women imitated each other, and doubled over laughing.

It was a glitzy event, with Tanya’s friends from all walks of her life attending.

Cynthia, who had just gotten engaged, thanked NeNe for the card and gift she’d sent her, suggesting there might be a thaw in their frosty relations.

Kandi, Kenya and Porsha meanwhile were out to find the person who’d recorded Cynthia. They confronted friend Gail ‘Yovanna’ Logan-Momplaisir, to see if she’d admit to doing it.

Yovanna said she knew who recorded Cynthia, but refused to divulge who it was.

Kenya didn’t buy it, flicking her tongue at Yovanna to indicate that she was ‘the snake.’

‘Attacking is a totally different thing than asking someone a series of questions that are relevant to the point we are trying to get to, which is: Who is the snake?’ Kenya blurted.

The party drew to a close, and Tanya thanked everyone for coming back to Canada with her.

Then she paused to acknowledge that someone important had entered the room.

‘We brought a special guest here to really show you how important love is,’ she said. ‘Hit it, DJ!’

Dennis emerged from the crowd, taking Porsha’s hand, and dropping to one knee.

‘To be continued…’ the screen read.

The Real Housewives Of Atlanta will return next Sunday on Bravo.
