Barcelona made an emphatic statement that they are firmly in the LaLiga title race after dismantling Real Sociedad 6-1.
Enjoying almost 70 per cent possession over the whole match, Barca were simply too good for Sociedad, with Frenchman Antoine Griezmann opening the scoring in the first half.
Serginho Dest added one more goal before the break, before Barca came out all guns blazing in the second half with Dest firing in the third on 53 minutes.

The match became a procession as Lionel Messi slotted home Barca’s fourth, before Ousmane Dembele added his name to the scoresheet in the 71st minute.
Ander Barrenetxea pulled back an empty consolation to spoil Barca’s clean sheet hopes, before Messi put the cap on an almost perfect night by scoring Barca’s sixth just before the end.
