Christmas revellers let their hair down last night despite the bad weather as office party season got into full swing.
Storm Atiyah began to show its teeth as it brought strong winds and rain but this did not dampen the spirits of merrymakers in Leeds, Birmingham and Blackpool as they began their festivities.
Party goers donned their best Christmas jumpers as well as a full range of seasonal outfits that included Father Christmas, snowmen and elves on the second to last Friday before Christmas.
Many nightclubs started the weekend with festive-themed nights by playing non-stop Christmas Number 1 hits.
But the night ended abruptly for some in the city centres who looked worse for wear as they were carted off in ambulances and police cars.
