Rita Ora announced as a guest host of TikTok’s new radio station

Rita Ora has been in Australia in recent weeks filming the upcoming new season of The Voice. 

And now the British superstar has been announced as a guest host of TikTok and iHeartRadio’s new radio station, which is called TikTok Trending on iHeartRadio and is exclusive Down Under.

The 30-year-old said in a statement that she’s ‘loved connecting with her Australian fans on TikTok’ and is ‘beyond excited’ for her hosting gig. 

‘Connecting with my Australian fans on TikTok has been incredible,’ Rita said.

‘Their creativity is so inspiring and being able to engage with them on the platform has been amazing, which is why I am beyond excited to take on this guest hosting gig with iHeartRadio.’

She added: ‘I’ll be sharing the top TikTok tracks with you, talking about my favourite songs, and even sharing some insider info with you on the trending songs we all love. Make sure to tune in every week to catch me on your radio waves, I can’t wait to get started, Australia!’

The station will be hosted by Australian creators and music acts including musician G Flip, singer and former X Factor star Isaiah Firebrace, social media star Tannar and TikTok sensation Avneesha.

The Australian-exclusive radio station will be 24/7 and will also feature other guests hosts, who are yet to be announced.  

Meanwhile in February, Rita revealed how elated she was to have joined the line-up for The Voice.

She will appear on the show alongside fellow judges Keith Urban, Jessica Mauboy and Guy Sebastian. 

Speaking to The Daily Telegraph after the news was announced, Rita said: ‘I’m really grateful to have been invited here to be a part of The Voice this year.

‘I can’t wait to be able to mentor the amazing talent out here. Let’s go.’

She added: ‘Australia is home to some of my favourite musicians, and writing partners I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with.’

Filming wrapped up on the show mid-April, and Rita is expected to be leaving Australia for the UK in upcoming weeks.

Meanwhile, according to The Sun, Rita is dating Thor director Taika Waititi, who is shooting the latest film in Australia at the moment.

According to the publication, Rita, 30, and Taika, 45, have made no secret they are together among their famous friends and things could be getting serious.

‘They’ve been a couple since early March but kept things low key. However, all their friends know about the relationship. They’re really into each other,’ a source told the publication. 

Last week, the Body On Me singer posted a photo of Taika wrapping his arms around her as they wore complementing Gucci garments.

The snap sent tongues wagging, as fans speculated the pair could be an item and suggested Rita might have a cameo in his forthcoming movie.

In the snap, Taika sported a cap, partially concealing his identity as Rita penned a revealing caption: ‘Good times, memories, random things on my phone and the ones I love..’ alongside a heart emoji.
