‘Romy and Michele’ stars Lisa Kudrow and Mira Sorvino reunite for snap, prompting sequel rumors

Their blue and pink fluffy baby doll dresses are as iconic as their one liners – and now Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion stars Lisa Kudrow and Mira Sorvino have prompted rumors that they could be back on a screen near you.

The blonde duo both uploaded pictures to their respective Instagram accounts after meeting up at a Netflix bash, sending fans to speculate that a sequel to the 1997 movie could be in the works.

Lisa, 56, and Mira, 51, both seemed to be as much real life partners in crime as their characters, as they both gushed about each other.

Friends star Lisa wrote, ‘Most thrilling moment for me at a party ever! Genuinely good person, see you soon.’

Meanwhile, Mira said, Look who I ran into!! The incomparable [Lisa Kudrow]!! And I’m gonna be lucky enough to hang w/her again Friday! Woohoo!! Love this woman!!’

With both captions hinting at yet another meeting between the two actresses, social media users were quick to weigh in.

‘We need Romy & Michelle’s part two,’ demanded one fan, as another said, ‘Ummmmm are you having sequel meeting on Friday’ in a comment which was ‘liked’ by Mira herself.

‘We are waiting for the sequel,’ read one encouraging message underneath Lisa’s photo.

Many others couldn’t resist leaving comments referencing the movie’s most famous one liners such as, ‘Did y’all enjoy a business women’s special?’ and ‘I’m the Mary, you’re the Rhoda’.

Naturally, there were countless mentions of Post-its, as the protagonists infamously claimed to have invented the yellow sticky notes in the movie as they headed to their 10 year high school reunion in Tucson, Arizona.

It was a rare reunion for the two stars, who seem to still remain close despite more than two decades having passed since the film was released.

Sequel? The actresses have previously said they're interested in doing a sequel, encouraging Disney to get on board with the idea

Oscar-winning actress and mom-of-four Mira once said that the film’s writer and creator, Robin Schiff, was keen to do a sequel to the flick – but Disney didn’t agree.

‘Disney, if you’re listening – everybody wants it!’ Mira previously told a reporter at E!

‘Me and Lisa and Robin would love to do a sequel. We have asked Disney before. It’s Disney that has to decide to say yes.’

‘I don’t think they realize what a cult phenomenon it has become,’ she added.

‘I mean, people dress up as us for Halloween!’

Indeed they do – actress Jessica Alba previously went to George Clooney’s Halloween party as one half of the instantly recognizable duo, and thousands of people have shared their Romy and Michele-inspired costumes to Instagram.

Earlier this year, rapper Iggy Azalea and Kash Doll also donned the duo’s signature metallic dresses as they performed in her music video for the track F*** It Up.

It’s seemingly been a month of reunions for mom-of-one Lisa.

Just last week, she shared an iconic image with her Friends co-stars in celebration of the 25th anniversary of its pilot.

Over the weekend, she partied with ‘Monica’ aka Courteney Cox, 55, as they wished their friend, the actor Dan Bucatinsky, a happy birthday.

And in June, the pair spent a ‘girl’s night’ in with fellow Friends alum Jennifer Aniston, in an image that was liked over one million times.
