Ryan Gosling‘s new movie The Fall Guy took over the Sydney Harbour Bridge to film scenes on Sunday, stopping traffic flow across one of the city’s busiest expressways.
The iconic bridge was closed in both directs from 3am to 10am on Sunday, while the cycleway and footpath was closed from 5.30am to 10am.
The Cahill Expressway walkway was closed from 2.30am to 12.30pm.

Frustrated Sydney residents have taken to Twitter to blast the production for causing major traffic delays across the city.
‘Great to see the closure of the Sydney Harbour Bridge – 8 lanes, plus cycle/pedestrian lanes – so they could film a f**king movie. But it’s great that they can use an iconic bridge in a film because that bridge needs a bit of exposure.’
‘I just want to know how much they paid the government for such an inconvenience,’ another tweeted, while another added: ‘Surely with movie technology, this could’ve been filmed elsewhere and then rejigged to appear as if filmed on the Harbour Bridge.’

‘I just heard that the NSW government paid $1.5 million towards Ryan Gosling to film over the Harbour Bridge. Hope they didn’t wake up the 100s homeless that call under the bridge home,’ another user wrote.
A Neutral Bay resident also told Daily Mail Australia it was a ‘nightmare’ to have the choppers buzzing around the densely populated area in the early hours.
The full-scale production saw the bridge filled with filmmaking equipment as well as a handful of cars and trucks for what would be the epic scenes.

Photos from the bridge showed production was in full swing in the harbour city with Gosling squatting next to his stunt double.

The Fall Guy began filming in September, after Gosling arrived in Australia with his wife Eva Mendes and their children.
The flick will be based on the 1980s television series of the same name and it is set to be helmed by John Wick director David Leitch.
The Fall Guy, which premiered in 1981, was centred on a stunt man who led a double life as a bounty hunter.

The cast of the program was led by Lee Majors of Six Million Dollar Man fame and also included Heather Thomas and Markie Post.
The Fall Guy ran for a total of five seasons, the last of which concluded in 1986.
Development on the film adaptation of the program initially began in 2010, and Martin Campbell was eyed as its director.

At the time, Dwayne Johnson was in negotiations to serve as the feature’s lead.
