However, an insider has claimed there is a devastating twist awaiting one individual who will fail the course despite being one of the last people standing.

A show source told News.com.au on Monday that one celebrity is knocked back and ‘failed’ by the DS (directing staff) during their final selection.

‘Just because someone completes the course does not mean they will pass selection… A handful of recruits will complete the course, but one of them will not pass selection,’ they explained.

The insider said of the DS: ‘They want to see who fits the mould; who has the right attitude, determination and grit they’re looking for.

‘The ultimate question the DS are asking themselves is – would we have you in our team; would we want you standing next to us in a war zone?’ they concluded.

It’s believed Ant Middleton, the course’s chief instructor, will deliver the devastating blow to the mystery celebrity.

Daily Mail Australia understands that of the seventeen celebrity recruits, only three make it to the end of the course – including one female recruit.

Nick ‘The Honey Badger’ Cummins, 33, footballer Sabrina Frederick, 23, and comedian Merrick Watts, 46, are all said to make it to the final of the show, after many dropped out due to the brutal intensity of the challenges.

It’s believed swimmer James Magnussen, 29, and race car driver Molly Taylor, 32, voluntarily withdraw during the final challenge.
