Scott McTominay could only see out of ONE EYE during first half of Manchester United’s win over PSG

Scott McTominay could only see out of ONE EYE during first half of Manchester United’s win over PSG…. as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reveals midfielder only had one contact lens in!

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has amazingly revealed that Scott McTominay played the whole of the first-half against PSG with just one contact lens in.

The Manchester United midfielder, who started instead of Paul Pogba in a holding role alongside Fred on Tuesday night, performed admirably as United snatched a late win courtesy of Marcus Rashford’s drilled strike.

But the 23-year-old would have seemingly struggled throughout the first period as he played with just one contact lens in, as told by Solskjaer after the match, but the 23-year-old still put in an impressive performance.

‘Scott’s [McTominay] first-half performance was even more impressive considering he only had one contact lens in!’ Solskjaer said.

The Scotland international wad dominant in the first-half against opposite number Idrissa Gueye, formerly of Everton.

In fact, McTominay was so in control that Gueye was substituted at half-time by PSG manager Thomas Tuchel, with Moise Kean replacing him.

Bruno Fernandes, captaining his club for the first time, had given United the lead in the first-half following a re-taken penalty, but PSG – last season’s runners-up – equalised after Anthony Martial headed into his own net from a corner in the 55th minute.

But amid an open finale to the contest, Rashford converted brilliantly into the corner to clinch the win and three points for Solskjaer’s side in their Champions League opener.

Solskjaer was full of praise for his side afterwards, insisting the performance was better then when United beat PSG in March 2019 in the last-16 of the Champions League.

‘It’s a better performance this time, even though we won 3-1 last time,’ he said.

‘It’s a different feeling. It’s at the start of the group stage. Last time it was a knockout and it was euphoric. This is sterile without the fans but it’s still excellent and we deserved to win.

‘Axel [Tuanzebe] did fantastic. He’s been out for 10 months and to put in a performance like this against Neymar and [Kylian] Mbappe almost surprised us as well.’
