Honey, look what’s in the shower! Skin-crawling moment a SEVEN-FOOT bees’ nest is discovered behind bathroom tiles in a Florida house

  • A beekeeper was called to a home that had a seven-foot bee nest behind shower
  • Elisha Bixler, of St. Petersburg, Florida, removed the tiles to reveal the huge nest
  • The footage, taken on 5 November, shows the tall structure ‘packed’ with honey

This is the moment a 7ft-tall bees’ nest oozing with honey was uncovered behind the shower wall in a Florida home.

Bee expert Elisha Bixler, of St. Petersburg, was called to remove a nest that was hidden behind bathroom tiles after the homeowners complained of constant buzzing and the occasional bee emerging when they used the shower.

The footage, which has since received over 3.3million views, shows the huge honeycomb crawling with hundreds of bees.

Elisha Bixler, of St. Petersburg, Florida, specialises in bee removals and was called to a home that had an ‘incredible’ seven-foot bees’ nest behind the wall in their bathroom

The wall, which was covered in tiles, had to be safely removed so they could see the hive without disturbing the bees

Posting the video on TikTok, Ms Bixler shows off the amazing nest that is ‘packed with honey’.

She presses her finger into the honeycomb and releases the amber liquid, which is also seen dripping from the top of the nest.

Ms Bixler is then seen with a metal clip, which is designed to pick up or contain the queen bee so the rest of the hive will follow, meaning she can transport them safely to her own apiary.

Speaking in the video, she said: ‘I got a surprise when I started breaking away behind the shower wall. Look at how much honey is packed away in here.

‘The homeowners were getting tired of listening to the buzzing and the occasional random bee escaping the wall whenever they would use the bathroom.

‘This is a seven-foot long bee hive. This thing was incredible. I’m going to take them home to one of my apiaries.’

Another added: ‘Visitor: do you have honey? Home owners: yes, give me a second. *goes to the bathroom*’

One more said: ‘With my fear of bees, this is the more horrifying thing I would ever see if it was my home.’
