Unbelievable moment amorous couple get frisky in Perth’s city centre water fountain in front of mortified diners in 42C heat

  • Perth has been sweltering in soaring temperatures in January and February

Diners got a little more than they bargained for when a couple jumped in a water fountain and began getting frisky.

One stunned onlooker snapped a picture of the middle-aged couple – a woman who looked prepared in a bathing suit and her tattooed beau.

The couple were spotted in the throes of passion in the middle of the day in Yagan Square, a restaurant district and public square in the Perth CBD.

One shopper at Yagan Square snapped a picture of the couple near the food court with some commenter saying there was ‘dinner and a show’ (pictured)

‘Those of you whom were having a feed at Yagan Square today and witnessed this, please note there are support services available to help you process such trauma,’ the caption reads.

Other commenters pointed the couple could have just been trying to cool off amid Perth’s long-running heatwave.

Perth last month smashed its previous heatwave record when there were six consecutive days over 40C, and temperatures are still very high most days.

The demand for electricity also caused power outages as locals stayed indoors running air-conditioners and using electronics.

The heat has continued into February with the mercury soaring to 42.5C on the day the picture was snapped.

The usual temperature average for Perth in early February is between 20C to 30C.
