Shopper left disgusted by Woolies worker’s ‘shocking’ act

Shopper is left disgusted by Woolies worker’s ‘gross’ move while stacking shelves – but is it really that bad?

  • A woman has complained to Woolworths after finding meat on the floor of store
  • The woman said shelf stackers shouldn’t put meat on the supermarket floor
  • But most people said it wasn’t an issue – as the meat is covered with plastic

A Woolies worker has come under fire after placing packets of meat on the floor while stocking shelves.

But the ‘shocking’ act has shoppers divided with some ready to ‘alert the authorities’ while others insisting its no big deal as the meat is sealed.

A picture of the worker, which has been blurred for their privacy, shows them crouched in front of a meat display alongside a label machine and dozens of packets of meat.

A shopper has been left furious after noticing this worker stacking meat in the fridge on Monday afternoon

‘It happens often and I’ve sent two complaints via feedback form on Woolworths’ website last year but the situation is getting worse,’ the customer complained on Facebook.

‘Could you please do something about it as the store manager didn’t seem to be able to get the staff to do the right thing,’ she added.

The woman said the ‘unforgiveable act’ occurred on Monday – but she has taken pictures of another staff member doing the same thing previously.

One woman who agreed with her said they need new practices.

‘They could stack meat in a trolley instead of the floor and why pack the fridge with so much meat in the first place,’ she wrote.

This was seconded by another woman who asked why they don’t use trolleys to stack the meat instead of placing it on the floor.

But most people hit back at the woman, noting the meat is fine on the floor because it is covered in plastic.

The woman outraged fellow customers by snapping pictures of staff - leaving very few people on her side and some calling for her to banned from the supermarket

‘This is the most pettiest complaint yet,’ one woman said.

‘Don’t lick or eat the PACKAGING and you’ll be fine,’ added one man.

‘Take the plastic off first before cooking, you should be fine,’ a second man said.

Others took aim at the fact the woman had been taking photos of staff without permission – with a few calling for her to be banned from the store.

‘Perhaps the manager is too busy dealing with reports of a person taking pictures of staff without their permission and posting them on social media,’ one woman wrote.

‘Stop taking photos of retail employees, even if they were doing something wrong (which they’re not) that would be out of line,’ said one customer.

‘Some weirdo stalking their staff deserves to be banned from every store,’ one person said – their comment earning dozens of likes.

Daily Mail Australia approached Woolworths for comment, a spokesperson said the customer’s feedback had been passed on to the relevant store.
