Sometimes, a trick of the light or a shiny surface in the right place at the right time can create mind-bending scenes.

Bored Panda has shared a series of amazing images from around the world, showing how reflections can create stunning optical illusions. 

On one occasion, a tiny droplet of water on a twig holds an entire magical forest inside, while another snap makes it look like an alien took a selfie in an iron. 

Elsewhere, a water bottle with a picture of a forest was illuminated with its very own northern lights, while the setting sun through the window made it look as if a raging fire had broken out.
