Several strangers have rated a number of people’s attractiveness on a scale of one to ten in a video that sees them discussing the reasons behind their score.
A ten-minute video created by Cut.com and posted to its YouTube channel shows a total of nine participants being rated solely on their looks by people they have never met before.
The cringe-worthy clip sees the strangers revealing the brutally honest reasons for low-ratings, as well as their reasoning behind giving some people a high score.

Great! The first person whose appearance was evaluated by the judges was a woman who was rated highly by all of the judges
First up: The first contestant to be rated by the four judges was a white woman with long black hair, who all of the judges thought was very attractive
Positive: Rating the woman, a female judge (L) rated her as a ten, while another (R) gave the woman ‘a solid nine’ based on her appearance, and her silhouette, in particular
Next up: A young male participant was rated in terms of his appearance next, and he received a mediocre rating from the judges
Preferences: One judge said: ‘On a lesbian scale, he wouldn’t turn me. I wouldn’t be like “let’s do this”, you know what I mean?’
Woah: Another judge gave the young man a five, saying that she thought his face was ‘a little weird’ before adding: ‘It’s just long’
The video, which was posted to YouTube on Tuesday, April 9, begins as four people – whose role it is to rate the others – analyse the appearance of a white woman with long black hair and ‘curves’.
The woman receives a positive overall rating from the four judges, with one man saying: ‘I’m going ten right now. The hair, the ensemble is all put together. She’s slim, but she’s really voluptuous.’
Rating the woman, a female judge rated her as a ten, while another gave the woman ‘a solid nine’ based on her appearance, and her silhouette, in particular.
She said: ‘The contrast between the waist, and the upper body. The way the shape looks.’
Next up in the video was a young man, who said he was half Korean. When asked to rate him, a gay female judge gave him ‘a man eight’.
She explained: ‘On a lesbian scale, he wouldn’t turn me. I wouldn’t be like “let’s do this”, you know what I mean?’
Overall, the young man received three eights and one five, which came from a female judge who said: ‘Your face is a little weird.’
When he asked her why she thinks his face is ‘so weird’, she replied: ‘It’s just long.’
Rating: Another person whose appearance was rated on a scale of one to ten by the four judges was a man, who received ratings of one, seven and five
Cringe: One judge rated the participant with a five, as she made it clear she wasn’t a fan of his hairstyle. She said the contestant isn’t her ‘cup of tea’
Next: The next contestant received an average rating of a six and an eight for his appearance from two of the judges
Good impression: The contestant received an overall positive rating from the judges, including one who said he was ‘well put together’, rating him with an eight
Average: One contestant scored an average rating from the judges, receiving two sevens
Harsh: A female contestant received two sevens from two of the judges. One judge (R) explained: ‘I’m typically less attracted to Asian women’
The next person who was rated based on their looks in the clip was a man who sported long, curly hair and wore a plaid shirt with jeans.
The participant received a score of one, seven and a five – which came from the same woman, who said the participant isn’t her ‘cup of tea’.
After receiving the low score, the man asked: ‘Not even for one night?’ Responding to his question, the judge said: ‘I mean, that hair, we’d have to put it back for sure.’
The cheeky participant responded, saying: ‘Not unless you turn around.’
Rating the next contestant – a six foot three black male – one judge said: ‘I mean you’re tall, but your bald.’
Another judge added: ‘You’re still a little more manly than I like. You’re well put together. I’m going to give you an eight.’
Another judge gave the man a six, to which the participant replied: ‘Why a six?’ The judge then changed her mind, and gave him a higher rating of seven because of his ‘attitude’.
Next up in the video was an Asian woman, who received two sevens from two of the judges. After receiving her second seven, she asked the judge: ‘Why not eight?’
Responding, the judge said: ‘I’m typically less attracted to Asian women, but if we were to sit down and I was really feeling your vibe you might go to an eleven through the roof.’
Not impressed: The next contestant, Jenny, was unhappy with her overall rating as she received a five from one judge, despite being rated as a ten from another judge
Fab! The next contestant, whose name is Jenny, was described by one of the judges as being a ‘stud’, however, the same judge said that usually isn’t her ‘type’
Yikes: The contestant received a five from one judge, who said they looked like would be ‘one night stand material’
Anticipation: Another contestant, whose name is Carter, received both positive and negative ratings from the different judges
Personal preference: Carter, was told by one judge that she is ‘not as fit’ as she would personally prefer someone to be
Favorite! A male judge rated Carter with a nine, saying: ‘I like voluptuous women, and that’s what you’ve got going on’
Happy: A young male contestant impressed the judges and received an overall positive result from the four people judging the strangers
Blushing: One of the judges was impressed with a male contestant who was her usual type as she was seen smiling and giggling while rating the young man
The next participant who was evaluated based on their looks was a woman named Jenny.
The young woman received a mostly positive rating from the judges. She said: ‘Lesbian-wise, studs usually aren’t my type’, before giving the participant a ‘solid eight’.
Another rated the young woman highly, saying: ‘Ten. Like the symmetry [in her face] is nuts!’
However, one judge said: ‘One night stand material. Like five.’ And when asked by the participant how he could ‘be a ten’, she brutally said: ‘You can’t.’
The next participant was a white woman whose name was Carter. While rating Carter, one judge said: ‘Oh god, I don’t like myself today.
‘It’s so f***ed up to say but I guess physically you’re not as fit as I would prefer personally. I would say you evened out at around a six,’ she added.
Another judge rated Carter with a five, before one judge gave her a high rating of nine.
‘You get a nine from me for sure. Yeah, you look good,’ he said. ‘I like voluptuous women, and that’s what you’ve got going on.
The following two contestants, both male, received an overall positive reaction from the judges.
The final participant – an Asian woman – received a nine, eight and a seven.
The judge who rated her with an eight said: ‘You don’t have a lot of chest area going on, but that’s okay. They’re still perky, nice.
‘You’ve got the buns. You get an eight from me,’ he added. However, another judge gave her a seven, which led the participant to ask how she could improve her rating.
Last up: The last participant in the video received an overall positive rating from the judges for her nice appearance
Impressed: One of the judges told the final contestant, an Asian woman, that she doesn’t have ‘a lot of chest area going on, but that’s okay’
Woah: The woman was given a seven by another judge, before asking how she could improve her rating. The judge replied, saying: ‘I don’t know, you can’t really change your face’
Difficult: At the end of the clip, the judges had to place the participants in a line as they ranked them from most (R) to least (L) attractive, before adding themselves into that line
‘I don’t know, you can’t really change your face unless you do plastic surgery,’ she responded.
After rating each participant individually, the judges had to line them up order of most to least attractive, before placing themselves where they thought they deserve to stand in the line.
Another video uploaded by Cut.com saw the contestants speaking about how it felt to be rated on their appearance by complete strangers.
One participant said: ‘One thing people don’t really talk about as much is [that] there’s like the white privilege, and then there’s male privilege, but I think above all that that supersedes it is this – if you’re good looking, things are way easier for you, and it’s true.’
Another added: ‘I believe first impressions make a very big difference in how you treat people.
‘I do have those initial judgements but then I try not to judge someone’s character and who they are because of that impression,’ he added.
Carter added: ‘I think people have a really hard time with fat people. They just don’t know what to do with them.
‘Society just s**ts on them all the time. Everyone hates fat people,’ she laughed.
